How to use this collection

Choosing between the five

If this is a first visit and you want the postcard version of Lisbon — wide avenues, park views, a doorman who has worked the same shift for twenty years — the Four Seasons Ritz is the least complicated answer. If you are travelling for work, need conference space, a proper indoor pool and a room that does not require a taxi to reach the airport, Corinthia does that with unusual calm for its size.

If your Lisbon is late dinners, fado bars and being able to walk home uphill at one in the morning, Bairro Alto Hotel puts you on the doorstep — with the honest caveat that this square is lively. Verride is for the view and for the romance of sleeping inside a palace; Ludovice is for people who plan their days around what they will be drinking that evening.

None of these are ranked. They answer different questions.
